History and Stories! The five most important letters in the word history are the last five that spell story! Char Justiss, a history professor at Mountain View College, always focuses on the stories behind history.

Char is a 6th generation Texan. Born in the Piney Woods of East Texas, she lived in Dallas for 30 years and currently lives in Midlothian.. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree from the University of North Texas in Denton.

Right out of college she worked for a year at KTRE-TV in Lufkin, Texas, and had her own television show interviewing notables in the East Texas area. When she moved to Dallas, she worked briefly at the Dallas Morning News before landing a job with TM Productions, a Jingle company that created musical ID's for radio and televion stations around the world. She has also taught in the Dallas School District and in the Diocese of Dallas.

She is a member of the Gen. Levi Casey Chapter of the National Society Daughter of the American Revolution, the James Butler Bonham Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Hood's Texas Brigade Association, the Dallas Historical Association, and the Texas State Historical Association. A former docent at the Hall of State, Char is also a member of the East Texas Historical Association and has been published in the East Texas Historical Journal.

Char's greatest interest is history and she has presented programs and book reviews to various historical and genealogical organizations in and around the Dallas area.
